911 SCRIPT

If you ever need to call 911, don't worry. The person on the other end of the phone is there to help you. The script below can be used to help you talk to your kids about what to say if they ever need to call 911.

Sample 911 Script

911 Operator: “911, what’s your emergency?”

You: “Hi, my name is [your name].”

You: “I am at [your address or where you are].” This can be school, home, church, any building.

You: “Someone is hurt / very sick / in danger.”

You: “My mom / dad / teacher / adult is not able to help right now.”

👂 Then Remember:

  • Stay on the phone

  • Answer their questions

  • Listen carefully

  • Do what they tell you to do

It’s okay if you feel scared. You’re doing the right thing.

If You Forget What to Say

That’s okay too!
Just remember these three things:

1️⃣ Your name
2️⃣ Where you are
3️⃣ What happened

The helper on the phone will help you with the rest.
