PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

Logan County EMS provides a variety of professional education programs designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of both medical professionals and community members. These programs include continuing education courses for EMS personnel, nurses, and other healthcare providers, ensuring they stay current with the latest medical standards and life-saving techniques. In addition, Logan County EMS offers community training opportunities—such as CPR, first aid, and Stop the Bleed—to help residents gain confidence and preparedness in critical situations. Through these educational efforts, Logan County EMS strengthens the overall health and safety of the community it serves. If you're interested in any of the training opportunities contact Candy Aschenbrenner here.

CPR

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a lifesaving emergency procedure used when someone's heart stops beating or they stop breathing. It helps maintain vital blood flow and oxygen to the brain and other organs until professional help arrives. Knowing CPR can make the difference between life and death in cases of cardiac arrest, drowning, choking, or severe trauma.

Stop the Bleed

The Stop the Bleed class is an educational program that teaches individuals how to respond quickly and effectively to severe bleeding emergencies. The course provides practical skills such as identifying life-threatening bleeding, applying direct pressure, packing wounds, and properly applying a tourniquet. The training emphasizes that uncontrolled bleeding can lead to death within minutes, but immediate action by bystanders can save lives. By completing the class, participants gain the confidence and knowledge needed to act in critical situations.

Heartsaver
CPR/FA/AED

The Heartsaver CPR/First Aid/AED course is a comprehensive training program designed to teach participants how to respond to common medical emergencies and life-threatening situations. Developed by the American Heart Association, this class provides essential skills for recognizing emergencies, giving immediate care, and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) effectively.

Pedatric
CPR/FA/AED

The Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED course is a specialized training program developed by the American Heart Association to teach participants how to respond to medical emergencies involving infants and children. This class is ideal for teachers, childcare providers, parents, and anyone who works with or cares for children.
