OPERATION RED FILE
Operation Red File is a free program in Kansas designed to help individuals, especially seniors organize their critical health information for easy access by first responders in emergencies. The program provides participants with a red, magnetic folder where first responders are trained to look for it during emergencies.
Contents of the red file typically include:
-
Medical information form detailing current medical conditions and medications
-
A list of emergency contacts and medical coverage information (copy of insurance cards)
-
A clear, current photograph of the participant

Participants are encouraged to review and update their Red File information every six months or whenever there are changes in their medical conditions or medications. This ensures that first responders have the most accurate and relevant information available when needed.

Individuals interested in participating in the Operation Red File program can visit the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services website here or the Social Services department at Logan County Hospital at 785-672-8158.
